Mesh number of industrial brush wire and working characteristics of abrasive wire brush

In recent years, polishing brushes and polishing wheels made of abrasive wire as the main material are more and more used in industrial production. As a product made of emerging industrial brush materials, abrasive wire brushes are favored by many users, but at the same time, many people know little about abrasive wire. For example, one of the important specifications of abrasives is the mesh number, so what is the mesh number? What are the differences between different entries? This article is briefly introduced as follows.
The so-called mesh number refers to the particle size or fineness of the material. It is generally defined as the number of mesh holes in an area of 1 inch x 1 inch (incorrect italics), that is, the number of mesh holes of the screen. The number of mesh through which the material can pass through the mesh is defined as: for example, 200 mesh, that is, the material can pass through the screen with 200 mesh holes in an area of 1 inch x 1 inch. By analogy, the larger the mesh number, the finer the particle size of the material. The smaller the mesh number, the larger the particle size of the material.
The specifications of standard screens vary from country to country. The commonly used Taylor system uses the number of holes per inch as the screen number, which is called mesh. For example, a 100 mesh screen means that there are 100 openings per inch of screen.
A plus or minus sign before a mesh number indicates whether the mesh number of the mesh can be missed. A negative number indicates that the mesh size can be missed, that is, the particle size is smaller than the mesh size; A positive number indicates that the mesh size cannot be missed, that is, the particle size is larger than the mesh size. For example, the particle size is - 100 mesh~+200 mesh, which means that these particles can leak through the 100 mesh mesh but not through the 200 mesh mesh. When screening particles with such mesh size, the particles with large mesh size (200) should be placed under the screen with small mesh size (100), and the particles left in the screen with large mesh size (200) are - 100~200 mesh.
Working characteristics of abrasive wire brush
The abrasive wire brush is more and more widely used, thanks to its unique advantages in deburring and polishing: first, the abrasive wire brush can effectively remove the burrs and fins after the surface processing of parts, and carry out edge rounding, rust removal, oxide skin removal, etc; At the same time, the brush can also improve the surface roughness of the part by 1-2 grades on the original basis; More importantly, the abrasive wire brush can significantly improve the physical and mechanical properties of the part surface, such as eliminating the surface stress concentration and micro cracks, improving the surface hardness, increasing the thickness of the wear-resistant layer, improving the service performance of the part, and extending the fatigue life.
Abrasive wire brush
In a word, the brush can improve the appearance quality and assembly performance of parts, improve the overall quality and cleanliness indicators, complete the initial wear of transmission parts, and shorten the factory running in time of the entire machine. Therefore, abrasive wire brush can be so widely used.
